LifeStraw - Portable Water Filter

I thought this was interesting. A company called Vestergaard Frandsen designed a product called the LifeStraw, which is a portable water filter (sort of along the same lines as the home water filter video in the previous blog entry.) In this illustration you can see the layers of filtration in the straw. They also have a specifications page and a comprehensive data anaylsis of the reduction of certain types of bacteria and virus as well as the concentration of iodine after filtration. Maybe this is something we can look at after we make a working prototype?
