facts on PET website

So, there's been a lot of talk about the dangers of PET (the #1 plastic), but it seems there's a lot of erroneous hype out there. According to this website and the papers from the International Life Sciences Institute which is uses to back up it's claims, PET contains no BPA (the stuff that is in #7 plastics). It goes further to debunk claims made about other claims made against PET.

I don't claim to be an expert. I just wanted to get the discussion going on this. I realize this is a plastics industry supported website, and it has its biases, but it also has some facts and some seemingly credible research.

Also, an article from US News and World Report explaining the situation as well.

And another (probably plastics industry supported)

Does anyone have evidence that PET is not safe to use?
