hello everybodies. this is my primary trial at manipulating and mutilating plastic bottles in hopes of generating components for our Enormous Plastic Rain Flower. Thinking about multiple uses (possibly providing a bus shelter for high school students) i decided to explore the possibility of shading appendages for the "flower". In this instance, i exaggerate the leaf articulation of a pitcher plant to create a shading/shelter mechanism for the shelter. Bottle tops are rudimentarily fastened together by a simple tongue and groove joint. Variance in the density of bottle top provides for interesting shading conditions. This plasticized nature is reminiscent of the dappled shade provided by a tree canopy.
Further exploration, refinement, and precision to follow.
Maybe im completely in left field. IDK? let me know...
thanks,
g!
